Editions and Extra Manga

"I'm so confused as to what is an edition, and what is an extra manga."
These are my thoughts and conclusions.
Some consider Meteor Gin: Bear Dog Gin birth complication and Meteor Gin: Akakabuto's Last Intense Fight complication to be an edition, while others consider them to be an extra manga. Some say it's an extra manga because it has some reportage. If that is the case, wouldn't the sixth edition ("Phone book") be an extra manga as well? This is because it contains a poster, postcards, reportage, fan things, crosswords etc. The same goes for the seventh edition 1-3 with a poster.
If you say the Meteor Gin: Bear dog Gin birth and Meteor Gin: Akakabuto's manga are extra because they don't have the whole story, just the Akakabuto part, well shouldn't the sixth edition also be an extra manga because it is the same? Now you say, "But it has the wolf arc in there." Yes, the wolf arc manga has the same book from the sixth edition, but I don't think the wolf arc is the same edition to the sixth. Why? The sixth edition volumes 1-5 came out between August 2000 - May 2001. The wolf arc volumes 1-2 came out in 2003.
Why should it take two years in between if they were in the same edition? And between the sixth edition and Wolf Arc manga, the Bear dog and Akakabuto's last fight manga came out between September 2001 and January 2002. So really, I think the Wolf arc was supposed to be a separate edition.
We then have editions from 2004 that were reprinted in 2008. What I want to know is, can you classify the reprinted versions as an edition or are they included in the 2004 edition? For me, even if they have almost the same cover, they should really be a new edition because the 2008 edition has some that contains the GNG DVD box which were current at the time, but perhaps I'm the only one who thinks that.
It's a similar situation with the extra Weed editions. Why are the Gajou no ketto books referred to as extra manga or special books?
It has colored pictures and it has been called the second edition, but isn't that one called something special?
And these newest Weed versions called - "Hen", there's nothing special about them even if they are called special books. They have no colored pictures or reportage. They are just like the first edition, but thicker. I don't understand why these are called special/extra manga. It feels like it has the same problem as the GNG editions, like it should be an edition instead. Even if these Weed books have a name like Gajou No ketto or Tabidachi Hen etc., they are similar to the sixth or seventh editions that have extra names, but aren't very special. I don't understand why this is. Why do the "Hen" books stop in the middle of the Hougen story? The pocket and Ketto ends with Hougen's or Kaibutsu/P4's death. Perhaps it didn't sell too well?
The first edition of Ginga Densetsu Weed is still the first because it regularly came out even with the other versions. Overall, everyone has their separate opinions about this. I'm not an expert, but I think it's strange how everyone counts them as an edition or an extra manga when overall they are the same (or almost). I know FutagoShop was saying something else at the time, because we follow a big part about how Gingasite writes about this.
In my opinion, I think the extra manga are things like the Meteor Gin guide book, Weed legendary battle, Shin gaiden, Ginga Densetsu Riki etc. Extra manga is something that belongs to the story, but still is a side track. This is my list of the first edition to the GNG versions:
First edition October 1984 - April 1988
Second edition September 1993 - June 1994
Third edition November 1997 - July 1998
Fourth edition August 2000 - May 2001
Fifth edition September 2001 - January 2002
Sixth edition February 2003- February 2003 (8 days between)
